FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When is the event?
The event is held on March 27 2021. Start times will vary by ride. See below for a list of departure times:
– Hardcore Ride (100km) Departure Time – 8:00am
– Marathon Ride (42.2km) Departure Time – 10:00am
– Recreation Ride (20km) Departure Time – 11:00am
Please note we ask that participants arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time to prevent delays.
Where is the event held?
The event will start and end at Tynwald Park, New Norfolk. Details of the route can be found on our Course Info page.
How much does it cost to participate?
The registration fee is split into event categories:
- Hardcore Ride $150 (100km)
- Marathon Ride $30 (42.2km)
- Recreation Ride $20 (20km)
- Family Event Free!
What is included in the registration fee?
Riders in the Hardcore group receive:
- Ride Entry
- Official Ride Jersey
- Snacks and drinks at break points
Is my sponsorship or donation tax deductible?
Yes. Pathways Tasmania Inc is a registered Tax Deductible Gift Recipient which means your sponsorship or donations will be tax deductible which will be indicated on your receipt.
Are there any safety plans for events?
All participants will be provided with information about what is expected and how to keep themselves safe when participating in any of the individual events.
The event organisers will provide Marshall’s, safety cars and first aid on the day.
Please be aware that participant cover is excluded from the event insurance, and riders should ensure that they have appropriate personal accident/injury insurance or health insurance to cover loss/injury as a result of an accident whilst participating in the ride.
How do I make general donations?
If you want to make a donation to the event and do not know a rider please click on the “Sponsor the Ride” rider on the “Sponsor a rider page”.
Can I register as a team?
Yes, you can register a team. One of your team members can create the team during the registration process and then as other team members register they can just click on join team and pick the team name from the dropdown list. Please note that sponsors will need to allocate their sponsorship to an individual team member which will then be tallied and registered towards the team total.
Can I get a rider jersey?
The jerseys are part of the registration for 100 km riders. Registrations made within 30 days of the event are not guaranteed to have their Jersey arrive in time for the ride, however they will be available to pick up after the event.
if you are not riding on the 100km event but would still like to order a jersey, please email us at [email protected] to arrange. The jersey’s cost $70 each when purchased in this way.
What is the purpose of the ride?
The ride is about riding together as a community to raise funds to support Pathways Tasmania in the delivery of its services to homeless youth and people affected by addiction. Find out more about what we do at pathwaystas.org.au
What is our COVID Safety Plan?
We have prepared a comprehensive COVID Safe plan that complies with the set of standards to keep customers, workers at Freedom Ride and Family Fun Day safe. In the lead up to the event, we will be cross checking our plan with updates from the Tasmanian Government to ensure we our plan is current. Signage will be in place to reminded everyone to practice social distancing and good hygiene. Remember, we are all in this together!

Are children allowed to ride?
Kids aged 15 and under are welcome to participate in the 20km Recreational Ride, and must be accompanied by a Guardian.
